Nicholas Gadbois

Nick’s current work is based on real phenomena like actual city and village sites. New large pieces are bas relief, and suggest topography viewed from an aerial perspective. Architectural purpose combines with the alluvial flow used to introduce cement, plaster, acrylic and polyurethane into each work, for a unique visual language that explores patterns and human mark making on the land. These dramatic paintings speak to human transience, the effects of time, and our shared archeological footprint.
New paintings will be in the gallery beginning June 24th. Please join us for a reception with the artist that day from 5 to 7 pm.
Nick holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art, and lives and works in San Jose, New Mexico.
